Royal Wings flies to Alexandria

The company will operate biweekly flights, on Mondays and Fridays, from Queen Alia International Airport.

As of June 26, 2005, a third service will be added.

The decision to operate Amman-Alexandria flights was taken due to the growing demand for travel to Alexandria and increasing travel and tourism traffic between the Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The service raises the number of Royal Wings destinations to six.

Royal Wings, which is an RJ subsidiary company, operated its first flights between Amman and Aqaba, after the company was established in 1996. It aimed to boost travel to Aqaba and facilitate transportation to one of the most attractive tourism sites in the region.

Then, the airline's destinations expanded to other tourist attractions, like Sharm Al Sheikh and Hurghada (Ghardaka), in addition to Tel Aviv. After opening Gaza Airport in 1998, operations to Gaza were added. However, the service to Gaza was halted when the airport was closed, and operation to Al Arish was started, as an alternative destination, serving the passengers of the region.

In the summer of 2004, Royal Wings started a biweekly service between Amman and Aleppo. Additionally, several charter flights have been operating to regional countries, such as Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt and others.

Royal Wings owns two Bombardier Dash 8-300. Each one seats 50 passengers. The airline intends to develop and add new aircraft to its fleet in order to offer passengers improved services and contribute to the Jordanian economy.
