Tanmia graduation at the Emirates Aviation College

The Emirates Aviation College (Academic and Aerospace division) has reaffirmed its commitment to national educaton, with the recent graduation of its Tanmia trainees.

Tanmia, the National HR Development & Employment Authority, places UAE national school-leavers in colleges of higher education for training and educational programmes, in order to equip them with the skills necessary to enter the country's work force.

The 30 national women trainees, who showed a keen interest in improving their skills and in pursuing a career, were chosen by Tanmia to take the course, which included studies in the English language, IT, and office and communications skills.

The programme lasts for 16 weeks, out of which 12 weeks is spent in theoretical studies, followed by work placement at various organisations and companies.

At the graduation ceremony, Yousuf Abdulghani, Director-General of Tanmia, thanked them for offering places to the trainees. "We assure you all that we are very keen to continue these training programmes as part of our commitment in carrying out the directives of the government, which is helping to develop the work skills of the national population."

Mohammed bin Yousuf Al Budoor, Principal of the Emirates Aviation College's Aerospace and Academic studies division, stressed the importance of the role played by the organisations and companies, in both the government and private sectors, in the development and training of Tanmia students.

He continued: "I would like to take this opportunity to assure Tanmia that we will always fulfill our role as its partner in providing the required training, with highly-skilled staff and the necessary equipment within the best possible academic environment."

Mr Al Budoor congratulated the organisations and companies which provided job placement to the Tanmia trainees, including, Dubai Civil Aviation, Dubai Courts, Dubai Municipality, Emarat, Juma Al Majid Establishment, the Kanoo Group, the Al Tayer Group, Mashreq Bank, HSBS and Emirates Airline.

The Emirates Aviation College (Academic & Aerospace studies) is one of three facilities that come under the umbrella name of the Emirates Aviation College and includes the existing Emirates' training facilities within the distinctive aircraft-shaped building.

The third, currently under construction and set to be completed by March 2003, will run all corporate training and development programmes, and will offer third-party training for pilots in its Full Flight Simulator Centre.

The academic wing also offers a broad spectrum of management development programmes to aviation and non-aviation organisations and individuals which meet the highest standards of business practice.
