The regions HR practitioners will vie for 'HR Professional of the Year' and 'Outstanding Contribution to HR' titles. Presented on September 19, the awards ceremony will be held at Le Meridien Airport Hotel, Dubai from 7.30pm onward.

"The HR Excellence Awards will showcase the best HR talent in the Middle East and will honour HR professionals for their outstanding contributions in creating a high performance workforce for the future," said Jackie Wilks, Conference Director, Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East. "This Summit is a platform for industry professionals to update their skills and we are keen to recognise those professionals who have been actively involved in leading trends and best practices in the HR profession," added Wilks.

The award nominees for both categories will be judged by a panel of HR professionals and business leaders, selected by IIR Middle East. Judges include Sultan Al-Hajji (Deputy General Manager, Total Abu Al Bukhoosh, UAE), Nanette Fairley (Managing Director, Innovative HR Solutions, UAE), Charles Wilson (Proprietor, The Consultancy, UK) and Judith Chalk (Editor, Human Assets Middle East).

The 'HR Professional of the Year Award' will be presented to the individual who has significantly influenced HR processes and been creative in the development of strategies, policies and practices which have benefited the organisation. Applicants for the award must submit a written record to the panel of their achievements and positive outcomes.

HR Practitioners may also be nominated for the 'Outstanding Contribution to HR Award'. Individuals submitting nominations are required to provide a written record of the achievements and reasons to award the nominee.

Both awards will be based on the candidates' level of innovation, resource maximisation and the benefits earned by the organisation from the HR policies and strategies that were used.
