Sabban Property Investments (SPI) chosen as exclusive sponsor of VCUQ'S 2005-2006 'Be Here Desing Now' competition

Sabban Property Investments (SPI), the Gulf-based Real Estate Development Company, was recently selected as the exclusive sponsor of the 2005-2006 'Be Here Design Now' competition organized by Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUQ).

The Scholarship for Creativity, is the only Education City scholarship awarded by the office of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation.

The Be Here Design Now Competition is an annual regional competition that provides high school students from the Middle East the unique opportunity to showcase their design and artistic skills and be recognized by one of the best American schools in the Fine Arts. In phase one the participating students will compete for cash prizes sponsored by Sabban Property Investments and they will be able to ship their designs to Doha for judging free of cost, due to the partnership with DHL Express. In round two the country winners will compete for a chance to win one of two prestigious Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al-Missned Scholarships for Creativity.

The scholarship is a four-year scholarship provided to the two entries with the best use of the theme. This year's theme is provided by Mr. Issam Alsabban the Chief Executive Officer for SPI.

The 2005/06 'Be Here Design Now' competition is set to kick-off at the start of the new academic year in September 2005.
