British University in Dubai (BUiD) encourages prospective graduate students to apply for scholarships

The British University in Dubai (BUiD), a postgraduate research-based university, has a number of scholarships available for prospective graduate students who have applied or plan to apply for September enrolment.

A number of scholarships are still available with a value of up to 50% of tuition fees. The University also is offering special scholarships to UAE nationals who hold degrees from Zayed University, the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and UAE University.

Commenting on the scholarships, David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of the University said, "Since BUiD opened its doors to students last September, we have met so many well qualified and motivated students eager to obtain graduate degrees. I am very pleased that through our University and the support of partners from the local business community, we are able to help ambitious individuals pursue their dreams."

Prospective graduate students, who have applied to the University's Masters programmes in Informatics, Education or Project Management and have received an offer of study at BUiD may apply for the scholarships. If you have not yet applied to study, specific programme application forms can be found on the University's website at www.buid.ac.ae.

The British University in Dubai (BUiD) is the Middle East's first postgraduate, research-based university. The founders of the University are the Al Maktoum Foundation, The Dubai Development and Investment Authority, Rolls Royce, the British Business Group and the National Bank of Dubai. The University is managed by a provisional council under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ahmed bin Seed Al Maktoum.

Other organisations have shown their support for BUiD by providing scholarships. These include the Emirates Group, Dubai Duty Free, DUCAB and Atkins. In addition to providing scholarships, Atkins has also funded a professorship in the new institute of the Built Environment which has been established in partnership with the University of Cardiff, UK.
