Already considered the Middle East's fastest growing and busiest airport, a total of 21.7 million passengers passed through Dubai International Airport in 2004. On completion of the expansion programme in 2008, Dubai International Airport will have the capacity to handle over 70 million passengers annually.

Since 2001, Thrifty UAE has been responsible for providing a wide range of transport to EKFC including saloon cars, buses, storage vans and also refrigerated vehicles for carrying perishable goods from locations across the Emirate to their dedicated state-of-the-art catering facility at Dubai Airport.

According to Duncan Davis, General Manager responsible for all Operations and Production at Emirates Flight Catering, the catering unit prepares more than 49,000 top quality meals for flights out of Dubai International Airport every day for many of the world's leading airlines including Emirates.
"Once the airport expansion is complete, the number of meals required is going to more than double. Therefore, it is imperative for us to team up with the right partners enabling us to provide the highest standards of quality and service excellence, as we have been for over 25 years," said Siddiqui.
