National Bank of Dubai partners with Tanmia to boost Emiratisation drive
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, July 17 - 2005 at 11:39
- PRESS RELEASE
As part of its on going commitment to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals, National Bank of Dubai signed today a Memorandum of Uderstanding (MoU) with Tanmia.
Under the agreement, National Bank of Dubai will employ and train a minimum of 45 UAE Nationals for its Al Mishaal Programme for fresh school leavers designed to give them the basic understanding of banking prior to joining various departments in the Bank.
"Our commitment to Emiratisation remains at the forefront of our priorities and our partnership with Tanmia will enable us to further this commitment," stated Maryam Bahlooq, National Development Manager, National Bank of Dubai. "At NBD, we offer Nationals careers in which they can develop and prosper; and we consider the ongoing training and development of Nationals as our duty to these future leaders in the banking industry."
NBD, a leading local Bank supporting Emiratisation and award winner of "Dubai Human Development Award 2002" in recognition of its proactive approach to Emiratisation, has a long partnership history with Tanmia. Since 2001, NBD has joined efforts with Tanmia and has recruited 120 UAE Nationals to date.
As a further step, NBD is in the process of signing another agreement with Tanmia to recruit another group of Nationals for its newly developed Programme for Accelerated Learning (P.A.L) that enables Nationals, with or without graduate status to join a comprehensive, in depth programme for personal and professional growth.
As part of the Bank's commitment to the communities it serves, NBD has always played a vital role in creating awareness of career opportunities available in the banking through orientations at schools and universities across the UAE. Moreover, NBD sponsored the Student Directory for Higher Education by Tanmia, the first handbook of its kind in the UAE to be distributed to high school seniors and their parents throughout the UAE and their parents to help them in their choice for higher education that best suits them.
Central to the success of the entire Emiratisation Process, National Bank of Dubai's Development Centre also operates several recruitment and training programmes. These include the competency based training programmes that allow equal training and development opportunities for all National employees; Al Mishaal Programme for fresh school leavers; a tailored Management Trainee Programme designed to develop and train fresh Graduate Nationals joining the Bank at middle management level; and Al Ruwad Programme that aims to build the leadership bench for future NBD National leaders.
