This is to enable more photographers to participate in the event. So far about 37 entries have been received by the DSS Media Center for the exhibition and the final date, which was July 15, has been extended up to July 21 because entries are still flowing in for the much-sought after event.

"So far, the DSS Media Center has received more than 37 applications and many of them are for the photojournalist's category. There are three categories in this exhibition and each participant in this exhibition has to submit 10 of his best photographs," said Aref Khan, Area Business Manager Kodak adding. "Along with this exhibition there would be some special corners to educate and entertain visitors about photography and cameras," he said. "There will be special corners for exhibiting the old cameras and the new cameras. A corner will teach visitors how to take nice pictures using the mobile phone cameras. Yet another corner will teach visitors about the process of film developing and how to print the pictures that they have taken using their mobile phones," informed Khan. Kodak is the sponsor of the exhibition.

Along with the exhibition, there will be a photography contest for all of the participants having pictures of any of DSS events or the Modhesh Fun City the entry date for which is August 10. The photography awards will be decided on the basis of the precision with which a particular situation or person is depicted and the impact of photographers and photographs on the Emirates' lifestyle. The prizes include digital cameras worth Dh5,000 for three winners in each category including The Professional Photographers - Dubai in General; Talent Category - Dubai Landscapes and Press Photography Category - Any Photograph.

A six-day photographic exhibition will take place in BurJuman from August 14 to 18 and at the Dubai World Trade Center on August 19, the World Photographers Day. Winners from each category will get awards and prizes at a major dinner gathering at the Dubai World Trade Center. Each participant will present 15 photographs maximum.
