DED launches fun-filled awareness campaign at DSS 2005

In its continuing effort to generate greater awareness of its initiatives and projects among customers, the Department of Economic Development (DED) has launched a fun-filled awareness campaign during Dubai Summer Surprises 2005.
"The Department of Economic Development (DED) has always been keen to upgrade its performance and reinforce its image as a customer friendly department," said Mohammed Hilal Al Mouroushedi, Head of Dubai Shopping Malls Activities committee at DED.
"Throughout the DSS 2005, we hope to reach our customers and make them aware of the quality services provided by the DED in fun-filled manner which entertains even as it informs," he added.
Specially printed forms for the competition can be collected from the DED kiosks that have been set up at the participating malls including Deira City Centre, Al Reef mall, BurJman Centre and Mercato mall. Participants are expected to match the logo for each of the services offered by the DED with its corresponding title. Draws for the competition will be conducted on a weekly basis with five lucky winners getting valuable prizes.
The DED's kiosks distributed in Deira City Center, Al Reef mall, Burjiman Center and Mercato mall will provide shoppers with extensive information, leaflets and brochures about the various initiatives and projects being offered by the DED.
These include the services for the Small and Medium Enterprises sector, Intelaq, the franchise management service, the Dubai Economic Research Award, the various consumer protection services and the booklets for traders on registering and protecting trademarks on offer at the Department.
Tthe DED's contribution to DSS 2005 spans the entire period of the surprises via organising some of the major events at the shopping malls. Some of the events include "The Disney Magic" at Mercato, "The Kids Fashion Week" at Deira City Center, "The Collectors Exhibition" at BurJuman and "Men Beladi" at Bin Suqat.

About Department of Economic Development (DED):The Department of Economic Development (DED) was established in March 1992, with the objective to organise, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai.
