Etisalat clarify blog policy

Etisalat is not authorised to block websites itself but does refer complaints to the Ministry of Information, officials told Gulf News, responding to complaints about the blocking of a local blog site. Internet access across Dubai is restricted by a proxy server that filters sites that offend the country's traditions or are a security threat, they added.
