Spotlight on i-mate will give retailers the opportunity to compete with their counterparts to achieve an official sales grading from Source IT, with the top display winning a mystery prize. Point of sale i-mate material, positioning of i-mate products and accessories, and knowledge and efforts of salespersons will all be judged in an effort to maximize the appeal of i-mate and its accessories to customers, whilst ultimately increasing sales.
The displays will also offer customers a unique opportunity to experience the i-mate product live via the i-mate display unit, available at selected outlets.

Ahmed Al Azzawi, director, Source IT commented on this original idea: "Source IT recognizes its role in helping and encouraging its retailers regarding the sale of i-mate products. The Spotlight on i-mate competition's main aim is to educate and encourage retailers about how to improve in-store sales techniques, while also providing a unique opportunity to pitch their company's sales efforts against their competitors - something that retailers rarely get an opportunity to do."

"The Spotlight on i-mate competition is a novel but worthwhile challenge which gives retailers the chance to showcase the full range of their capabilities, while also undoubtedly benefiting from the resulting upturn in sales", added Al Azzawi.

The competition will run until 10 August, with the eagerly anticipated winner being announced on 15 August and officially presented with their well-deserved mystery prize. Fellow competitors can then use the winning retailer's publicized sales methods as a benchmark to improve their own sales efforts.

i-mate retailers competing for the accolade of best in-store sales display include Plug-ins Electronix, CompuMe, Wireless Planet and Digi Photo. Here, consumers can get a unique chance to see a full display of i-mate products and accessories, including the SP3, PDA2K, SP3i, the i-mate JAM and the new i-mate PDA2.

The i-mate is one of the most sophisticated pocket PCs available, offering wireless Bluetooth capability and the full Microsoft mobile suite of applications, such as email, internet, MP3 player and instant messenger.
