Alcatel and Etisalat sign a worldwide cooperation agreement

Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Etisalat, a leading telecommunication player in the Middle East, to accompany Etisalat in its worldwide expansion plans.

Alcatel has become one of Etisalat's strategic partners in order to pursue new fixed and mobile markets or business opportunities.

Alcatel and Etisalat will collaborate in the development of business cases, technical feasibility studies, tender submission, marketing, financing solutions linked to the supply and installation of Alcatel telecommunication equipment and the delivery of support services.

Mr. Obaid Bin Mes'har, Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat International said: "By signing this agreement with Alcatel, we expect that both companies will see their businesses grow together, not only throughout the Gulf region but also through all Etisalat's future international acquisitions."

"This agreement is the logical evolution of the long lasting cooperation between our company and Etisalat in the development of telecommunications solutions in both the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
