  • PRESS RELEASE

Juma Al Majid Establishment, the sole agent of Hyundai in the United Arab Emirates, announced record sales during the first half of 2005.

The overall sales of passenger cars and commercial vehicles reported a 59% rise compared to first half sales in 2004.

"The local marketing plan that Juma Al Majid Establishment pursues is in line with the international marketing plan for Hyundai Company. The sales of vehicles have increased by 87% during June and 72% throughout the first half of 2005. The launching of new model cars and the economic growth experienced by the country have contributed in increasing the demand for Hyundai vehicles" said Mr. Omar Badar, Sales Manager for Hyundai at Juma Al Majid Establishment.

Moreover, the rate of sales grew by 59% for all cars, including the commercial vehicles. 4X4 sales have duplicated several times within the same period thanks to the launch of the new 4X4 Tusan as well as the increase in demand for 4X4 vehicles.

Mr. Badar emphasized that "the auto market has experienced remarkable growth in the United Arab Emirates in the beginning of the year 2005. It is expected that this growth will remain until the end of 2005, especially with the positive indexes that show the growing demand for personal vehicles and commercial cars."

Juma Al Majid Establishment credited the sales rise to the launch of new high characteristic models and attractive designs as well as high quality and safe specifications seen in Hyundai's vehicles such as the Sonata and Tusan. Both gained the high consumer satisfaction at an international level after the launch in the markets last period. In addition, Sonata and Tusan became strong competitors for other brands in the auto market. The demand for these cars and the high demand for smaller saloon and commercial cars have increased.

Mr. Badar added "The remarkable growth of Hyundai sales at local and international levels is proof that this brand is well-trusted by consumers. Hyundai competes with other Japanese cars so it is important that we meet consumer demands in small, medium and sport cars, as well as five and seven passenger 4X4 vehicles and commercial cars".
