- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- has announced that soon all printing and distribution of Etisalat customer invoices will be outsourced to Electronic Data Centre (EDC), a division of Emirates Post.
Customer invoicing has been one of the most active sections for customer interaction. Since an invoice is an assured contact with a customer each month, Etisalat has ensured that this is a seamless and efficient process, making it effective for the Corporation as well as appealing and easy to understand for the customer. In line with international best practices, Etisalat had earlier separated its customers for each service into different bill cycles. This ensures efficiency by only having to deal with a percentage of customers at each cycle. In the past, Etisalat has also welcomed delegations from regional telecom operators who wanted to study the efficient and effective methods employed in Etisalat's billing system
Ali Al Sharhan, Executive Vice President- IT, Etisalat, said: "We are very pleased to announce this development, and we are confident that this move will go a long way in adding value for our customers. Within a few bill cycles, we will make arrangements for all of a customer's invoices from Etisalat to appear on the same bill. Although our existing system of printing customer invoices in-house was flawless, we expect that this move will free the Corporation's time and effort to concentrate more on our core business activities."
"This move represents a significant win for EDC. We will be managing a huge volume of statements and advices for millions of Etisalat's customers. We will receive the data electronically, print it in a secure environment and dispatch it to Etisalat customers through our nationwide network of PO Boxes", said Abdullah Al Ashram, CEO, EDC.
Until now, Etisalat relied on advanced internal printing operations for its customer invoices, and customers would receive separate bills for each account they held with Etisalat, including E-VISION for Cable TV and eCompany for Internet. Under the new arrangement with EDC, customers will soon receive one common invoice for all their accounts with Etisalat.
Customers can pay their Etisalat bills at any Etisalat Business Centre and at Public Cash Payment Machines located strategically at Etisalat premises, shopping malls, airports and other public places. Online transactions can be conducted on Etisalat's e-Shop, www.e4me.ae. Etisalat has entered agreements with prominent banks, which will open the channels of Net Banking, SMS Banking, ATM Banking and Phone Banking of Citibank, Mashreq Bank, Habib Bank, Emirates Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and Commercial Bank of Dubai. With another strategic partnership agreement, all locations of Emirates Post have counters where customers can transact on their Etisalat accounts.
