The author, who will speak at the international leadership summit Leaders in Dubai on November 28 - 29, was inducted into the first-ever Amazon.com Hall of Fame as part of its 10-year anniversary celebration honouring the top 25 best-selling authors, musicians, and movies.

Dr Johnson, the author of Who Moved My Cheese?, said: 'This honour reflects the significance of helping millions of people understand, deal with, and prosper from change.

'It means we are helping people around the globe, to be happier and more productive at work and in their personal lives in a world where change and uncertainty seem to be increasing daily.'

Dr Johnson was also named number two overall best-selling author of all time on Amazon.com, including both fiction and non-fiction authors, behind J. K. Rowling, author of six Harry Potter books.

As demonstrated by the success of the book, companies and organisations must change and adapt to survive. To meet this demand, Dr. Johnson and his company, Spencer Johnson Partners, are creating a new working process that helps work teams and individuals prosper from the changes they encounter.

Based on the simple principles found in the book, 'Who Moved My Cheese?,' the process contains a series of practical change tools that people can use in their daily routine to help them benefit from the specific changes they are facing without fear.

Dr Johnson joins eight other business and political headline names, including Mikhail Gorbachev, former leader of the Soviet Union, and Dr Mahathir bin Mohamed, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, at Leaders in Dubai.

The trio of political heavyweights, who have dominated headlines over the last 20 years, will join Madeleine Albright, the first female Secretary of State in the USA, and five business and strategy leaders to debate international leadership principles in front of more than 2,000 delegates.

The full line-up of speakers is:

• Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the former Soviet Union and winner of the 1990 Nobel Peace Prize
