Trend Micro extends and enhances security for corporate messaging communication and collaboration environments
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, July 30 - 2005 at 09:33
- PRESS RELEASE
Trend Micro, a leader in network antivirus and internet content security software and services, today announced new and enhanced virus, content, and spam protection for some of the most advanced email, instant messaging, and collaboration environments in the Middle East.
Trend Micro's solutions for communication and collaboration environments include:
• IM Security for Microsoft Office Live Communication Server (NEW - v1.0)
• ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange (NEW - v7.0)
• ScanMail for Lotus Domino (NEW - v3.0)
• Portal Protect for Microsoft SharePoint (NEW - v1.6)
• InterScan Messaging Security Suite
• Spam Prevention Solution
The enhanced solutions come at a time when security risks in the Middle East to popular business communication applications, such as Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, and Microsoft SharePoint, are increasing - network worms, viruses, spam, and other unwanted content can rapidly infect an organization and spread to business partners, customers, or the public at large, making damage and cleanup costly and time-consuming.
"By providing a variety of crucial security options for customers in the Middle East, Trend Micro is ensuring maximum return and security on prominent communication platforms," said Justin Doo, Managing Director of Trend Micro in the Middle East and Africa region.
With the evolution of communications tools and collaborative environments in the region, the potential for disruption from malicious code, spam, and inappropriate content increases dramatically. As the adoption of these technologies broadens, a new wave of blended threats may emerge, exploiting the rich interaction enabled by these applications. Integrated security solutions that include expert support and timely services will help minimize the impact of such attacks.
"Our security solutions integrate with other products and services under Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy (EPS), providing the integrated, comprehensive protection businesses need to secure their corporate network," continued Doo.
The newest member to the communications security family, Trend Micro IM Security for Microsoft Office Live Communication Server, helps prevent recent worms like Bropia, Kelvir, and Fatso from using instant messaging (IM) as a propagation vehicle. Without appropriate protection against malicious code and inappropriate content, IM could become as vulnerable to abuse as email.
Trend Micro ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange v7.0 now features optional anti-spam and advanced content filtering technology to ensure the uninterrupted flow of email traffic, in addition to its award-winning, high-performance scanning and centralized management capabilities.
In addition to the above solutions, Trend Micro will continue developing the latest protection for corporate communication and collaboration applications from such leading vendors as Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle in the Middle East.
