Egypt's TE Data selects Alcatel's broadband access solution

Alcatel will install and support 50,000 DSL lines over the next year. The Alcatel solution will provide Egyptian end users with high speed Internet access, as well as other broadband services. Alcatel's broadband access leadership, which is based on its unequaled service level and integrated product portfolio, helps service providers face their key challenges: increasing coverage, tackling scalability issues, offering additional services on their broadband infrastructure and converging voice and data platforms. Underscoring its expertise in broadband access, Alcatel will also assist TE Data in achieving their strategic objectives through its business-consulting program.

TE Data will deploy the Alcatel 7300 Advanced Services Access Manager (ASAM), the most widely deployed DSL platform in the world. Alcatel will also provide TE Data with its unique 5530 Network Analyzer, an advanced diagnostic software tool that detects line quality and equipment failures, and provides proactive detection of line problems using expert diagnostics to continually monitor service quality. TE Data joins other service providers such as Iceland Telecom, Ventelo, and KPN who use the 5530 Network Analyzer today to support the introduction of broadband services.
