Cathay Pacific reports 40 per cent increase in e-ticket usage

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, August 08 - 2005 at 10:53
  • PRESS RELEASE

Cathay Pacific has seen a marked increase in the utilization of its paperless ticket.

Since the introduction of the electronic ticket facility in the UAE, almost 40% of Cathay Pacific passengers have traveled using the system. The airline expects further increase in the number of usage in the coming months.

The electronic ticket has succeeded in making the travel process much more convenient and flexible for passengers, as it is no longer necessary to obtain and keep track of valuable flight coupons. E-ticketing also offers expedient options for delivery of itinerary and confirmation information.

"Since the introduction of the e-ticketing system at Cathay Pacific, we have seen an overall increase in customer satisfaction, due to faster and more efficient service. In addition, travel agents are able to substantially reduce their resources on ticket delivery and are able to re-deploy these resources into other areas and thereby increase productivity. More importantly, due to the shortening of the ticketing and delivery process, travel agents have more opportunity to accept last minute bookings", comment by Satish Shitut, Sales and Marketing Manager for UAE and Oman.

Cathay Pacific is now offering the e-ticket facility on all types of fares, including one way fares for Filipino expatriates coming from Manila.

Cathay Pacific's e-ticket facility is part of its continued commitment to deliver quality service to its valued customers. The airline was recently named as "Airline of the Year" by the world's largest passenger poll, Skytrax.

Cathay Pacific currently flies 13 times a week between Dubai and Hong Kong, with 7 direct flights, 2 services via Bahrain and 4 services via Mumbai and Bangkok.
