Top retailers like Jumbo Electronics, UAE's leading consumer electronics company and Rivoli, the leading luxury goods retailer are optimistic about prospects in the last few weeks of the retail and shopping extravaganza and are projecting higher sales figures.

Mr. Arvind Nair, Chief Operating Officer, Jumbo Electronics, says; "We are witnessing an increase in the footfalls particularly at stores based within shopping malls. Jumbo's approach to shift into malls and out of high street locations seems to be paying off well as more and more as consumers prefer the shopping experience within malls which is evident this DSS. MP3 players, Digital Cameras, Playstation Consoles and Games are the hottest buys this season."

He adds; "The year on year growth compared to last year's festival has been an approximate 20 percent. There is almost a 15 percent rise in sales during DSS as compared to the period prior to DSS. Our pivotal promotion with SONY, where four Star Cruise Packages are up for grabs has received a terrific response. For those who have missed out, there are still about three weeks more to avail of this exciting Jumbo-Sony promotion."

Mr. Ramesh Prabhakar, Managing Partner of the Rivoli Group, said: "This year Rivoli has experienced a marked increase in sales in all its various outlets, in the UAE. With a lot of the consumers leaving the UAE to visit relatives this summer, there has been an increase in watch sales in both Rivoli stores and various brand boutiques. This is especially in the case of Hour Choice, which gives the consumer a wide variety of branded watches available in different styles. The promotional prices that Rivoli was able to offer its consumers this DSS received a great response, and this is truly evident in the sales figures for this season."

UAE's leading retailers, Jumbo and Rivoli expect a further boost in sales in the next few weeks of DSS, particularly as a lot of the expatriate population are scheduled to return from their annual summer sojourn.
