Serving as the security backbone for Oracle Fusion Middleware, the new release brings together the best identity management capabilities from Oracle and Oblix and further extends support for heterogeneous systems.
Regional organizations can use the solution to manage enterprise-wide identities for Oracle and non-Oracle technologies. The product extends support for all leading applications, directories and platforms.
"When we acquired Oblix, Oracle provided an outline for how we would rapidly integrate Oblix technology with Oracle's existing identity offerings," said Husam Dajani, vice president, Oracle Middle East and Africa. "This release marks the first milestone delivering on that commitment and brings together the best features and technologies that will help us to meet strong regional demand for Oracle's identity products."
With increasingly complex information technology ecosystems, organizations in the Middle East are seeking comprehensive solutions that provide secure access across all systems. For example, an enterprise running an IBM database, SAP applications and an LDAP directory from Microsoft can use a single identity solution ¡V Oracle Identity Management throughout its enterprise.
Previously, organizations were tasked with deploying multiple point solutions to manage user identities for specific systems and applications.
New Features Extend Support for Diverse Computing Environments
The new release of Oracle Identity Management includes a number of enhancements to the Oracle COREid Access and Identity, Oracle COREid Federation, Oracle COREid Provisioning and Oracle Web Services Manager components of the suite, further extending its leading heterogeneous capabilities.

Oracle COREid Access and Identity
Updated support for IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic Portal servers, allowing organizations to provide secure access to applications and content delivered through these portals.Oracle COREid Federation
Incremental Oracle Database and SQL Server support for federated identity information.Oracle COREid Provisioning
In addition to support of Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Identity Integration Server, the Oracle Internet Directory provisioning platform has been certified to provide customers an out-of-the-box provisioning solution.
