Al Hamra Village project on schedule, second phase unveiled

The construction work on the Al Hamra Village project, the AED 1 billion premium real estate and tourism project in Ras Al Khaimah, is on schedule and the first batch of villas, town- houses and apartments will be delivered by December 2005, according to the developers.
The Al Hamra Village is a sea -side resort and residential development encompassing more than 1350 residential units set in a picturesque landscape complete with a marina, luxury hotels, an 18- hole championship golf course and numerous leisure and entertainment options.
"Another 30 percent of the project, including the marina buildings, apartments and villas will be completed by June 2006 and the entire project will be handed over by December 2006", he added. The nine holes of the golf course would be completed by early 2006 and the full
18- hole golf course will be open by early 2007.
The 200- berth marina with full maintenance capabilities and refueling facility will be open by December 2005. This will be followed by the opening of the complete shopping mall having food courts, luxury brand outlets, super markets and clinics in June 2006.
Dr Massaad said that there has been a tremendous response from the market towards the project and the total value of the sales has touched AED 440 million. He added that 513 residential units including apartments, villas and town houses have so far been sold with negotiations going on for more than 100 units. "More than 50 percent of the sales have gone to Europeans and the rest divided between UAE nationals and other nationalities. The opening of the Emirates Road, which has reduced the travel time from Dubai Airport to Al Hamra Village to just 40 minutes, has made the project all the more attractive to buyers", he added.
He said that the construction of the AED 300m Al Hamra Palace Hotel which is part of the Al Hamra Village project was underway and added that the 400 room, six-star hotel designed by renowned Italian architect, Maurizio Papiri will be opened by early 2007.
The second phase of the Al Hamra Village will have 1200 residential units nestled in a traditional Arabian Village ambiance with excellent beach and golf course views. The residential units will have a unique architecture that will harmoniously complement with the surrounding nature. The village will have excellent leisure and entertainment facilities including a 5 km jogging track, health clubs, swimming pools and lot of gardens.
A seven star hotel will be built on the newly formed man- made island in the third phase of the project. The 2.3 million square feet island has already been formed and works are on for building the bridge connecting the island to the rest of the Al Hamra Village project.
Frederic Piras, General Manager of the project, said that Al Hamra Village offered superior quality residential units at the most competitive prices in the UAE.
