Civil Aviation Authority certifies Academy of Technical Training

The General Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday awarded the Training Organisation Certificate to the Academy of Technical Training in Dubai.

The Training Organisation Certificate authorises the Academy of Technical Training (ATT), based in the Knowledge Village, to conduct training on Flight Safety, Ground Safety, First Line Maintenance Safety, Aircraft Accident Investigation and Management, Crew Resource Management, Operational Management and other courses which have been accepted by General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

Mr. Mohamed Ghanim Al Ghaith, GCAA Director General, handed over the certificate to Mr. Saeed Saif Saeed Al Falasi, ATT Chairman, at the Director General's office, in a ceremony, which was attended by the directors and staff of both organisations.

Both organisations also signed a Memorandum of Understanding granting ATT the use of the GCAA logo on its certificates and official documents.

According to Mr Saeed Saif Saeed Al Falasi, "This certification has earned the Academy yet another feather in its cap and it has already been recognised and certified by the Council on Aviation Accreditation (CAA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)."

ATT has a well equipped and self-sufficient training complex with modern sophisticated training facility and equipments. It organises a large number of courses and study programmes covering a variety of activities in the aviation Industry.

ATT provides professional training from basic to advanced levels, with refresher and orientation courses. All courses are conducted by highly qualified and experienced faculty to the highest standards and in accordance with the international standards.

The first two courses on Flight Safety and Ground Safety, comprising officers from the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Police, culminated on 13 July 2005. The Graduation Ceremony, held at the Knowledge Village auditorium, and was attended by the chief guest His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who gave away the certificates to the graduating students. Top officials from all sections of the defence forces also attended the ceremony.

The Academy aims to provide quality education and assist students in developing skills, values and knowledge pertinent to their working fields.

The various courses offered by the ATT have attracted interests from Defence organisations in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait.
