- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, August 13 - 2005 at 14:36
- PRESS RELEASE
Rotana Audio Visual Company, the leading Arabic entertainment network, has announced that it has opened an office at Dubai Media City (DMC). The new office is the latest addition to Rotana's presence in Dubai.
With the number of broadcasters projected to rise further, Rotana Audio Visual Company considers the opening of a new office at DMC opportune. The company is looking forward to locating itself in a community of like minded professionals that offers rich networking opportunities. Dubai Media City's one-stop-shop offering, which includes IT infrastructure services, satellite communication facilities, and government operations services such as licensing and immigration will support its development.
"DMC is an ideal place for Rotana to manage and run its global operations. We look forward to expanding our offices at DMC in the near future," said Bassem Jamil, Managing Director of Rotana Broadcast International.
Dubai Media City currently has over 50 regional and international broadcasters transmitting over 130 channels. Some of the leading broadcasters include MBC, Showtime, BBC, CNBC Arabiya and Taj TV.
"As a leading Arab entertainment channel and media company, Rotana will enhance the existing business partner community at Dubai Media City, and enrich it by being a source of everything from the classics to the latest and the very best in Arab entertainment today. We look forward to welcoming them and I trust that they will be equally inspired by our existing community of leading media companies," commented Mohamed Al Mulla, Director of Dubai Media City.
Established in 1987, Rotana is owned and chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. In 1995, Prince Alwaleed had acquired 25% of Rotana Audio Visual company, the largest Saudi recording label with the top 100 Arab artists. In 2002, his stake in the company was increased to 48%, and in 2003 to 100%.
