The VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 are highly portable and lightweight enough for today's business executive to travel with from meeting to meeting throughout the day. Both models enhance the quality of business presentations with their superior image quality, user-friendly functions and stylish design. Their auto setup capabilities also allow for quick and easy setup and shutdown procedures, saving users valuable time.

"We are seeing a rise in demand for 3-LCD panel projection technology that integrates both portability and strong performance. More and more businesses, sales and marketing executives are turning to compact, lightweight projectors that offer them more convenience and higher mobility when on the roads, but while not compromising on the projection quality," said Mr. Dharmendra Lalai, Senior Manager, IT Marketing Department, Sony Gulf FZE. "The ultra-compact VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 will add to our broadening line of lightweight 3-LCD panel projectors," he added.

Hassle-Free Setup

Both the VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 models come with "Advanced Intelligent Auto-Setup" functions that enable users to set up the projector by simply pressing the power button to automatically recall the previous settings in its memory. The Auto Focus, Power Tilt Adjuster and Keystone Correction settings in both models allow for the concise adjustment of picture geometry, by up to 15 degrees, giving an accurate representation of images even in cramped environments.

Razor-Sharp Clarity under Any Lighting

The VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 are outfitted with the innovative 3-LCD panel system, an advanced projector technology that reproduces a wide gamut of colours to project dynamic, vibrant and beautiful images. The projectors use dichroic mirrors to break the white light from the lamp into its red, green and blue components. Each of the three colours of light is then passed through its own LCD panel and then recombined by a prism before being projected onto the screen to produce clear, detailed images, which are gentle on the human eyes. Thus, users will not encounter colour breaking or "the rainbow effect", a result of colour sequential technology, which can be distracting to viewers.

Both models are capable of projecting a wide range of colours and the smooth movement of the microscopic liquid crystals in the LCD panels allows for natural colour gradations, especially in darker shades, so that images are faithfully reproduced and dither noise is reduced significantly.

Each projector comes with a 125W lamp that offers up to 2000 ANSI and lasts up to 3000 hours. It projects clear and vivid images even when the room lights are left on. Its low wattage lamp also means lower power consumption for the user.

The top-of-the-line VPL-CX20 model offers an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 750 TV lines while the VPL-CS20 model gives a true SVGA resolution of 800 x 600 pixels and 600 TV lines for clear display of text and important details.

Lightweight, Stylish and Professional

Both models measure 273 (l) x 52 (h) x 210 (w) mm and weigh just 1.9kg, making them among the most compact 2000 ANSI LCD projectors in the market. The small size means that each model fits easily into a briefcase, making it highly portable for the executive on the go. Encased in a sleek, durable aluminum exterior and stylish curves create a minimalist and professional look for corporate meetings and presentations.

Enhanced Technological Features

The VPL-CX20 and VPL-CS20 models are fitted with a highly efficient cooling system, exclusive only to this series of LCD projectors. Its Off & Go function allows the projector to be unplugged and kept away without waiting for the lamp to cool down while the low fan noise means less distraction during meetings.

Both projector models feature a short focal-length lens of 2.3 m, which makes it possible for users to project a full-size 80-inch image in small meeting rooms.

The multi-scan converter capability allows the projection of images from multiple interfaces, such as all HDTV formats, as well as video (component, composite, S-video and RGB) and digital computer (VGA up to SVGA+) signals.

Other features include a password-authentication system, control panel key lock, security cable lock, Image Freeze function and a 4x digital zoom function.
