Falcon cable gets going

Work has begun on laying the underwater sections of Flag Telecom's Falcon fibre optic loop cable system, which links through the Middle East from Egypt to India. Cable laying operations stretch 1,700km from Al Seeb in Oman to the Reliance landing station on India's west coast. Service through the cable will begin in Q4 2005.
