Dubai Press Club moves to Dubai Media City
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, August 21 - 2005 at 12:41
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Press Club's Executive Manager, Mona Al Marri, has announced the relocation of the Dubai Press Club to Dubai Media City.
Mona Al Marri said, "Dubai Media City represents an ideal location for the Dubai Press Club because it is home to the majority of media organizations operating in the UAE. Therefore, being situated where all the action is will undoubtedly enable the Club to function more effectively and promote communication with these media corporations; this in turn would reinforce the Club's goals and efforts of promoting the media sector in the region."
Al Marri added, "This is a planned move, over the past year we have been conducting opinion surveys in which this move was welcomed by 80 per cent of the journalists whose opinion was sought in this regard. It represents a step forward towards a more successful and more interactive Club, now in its right setting."
Al Marri said that there will be important additions to the facilities and services. "The Press Club is moving to a larger area in a building that is currently under construction to enable greater indoor and outdoor activities from which both members and non-members will benefit," she said.
"The move will also facilitate communication with government officials and important international, regional, political and economic personalities," said Al Marri. "We will be inviting them to our Club to share their opinion and ideas with our members, and to encourage thought-provoking debates and discussions between decision-makers and those who work in the media field."
The Executive Manager also stated that the planned relocation is taking place at a suitable time; "Dubai Press Club has by now become well established, and is now recognized by most regional entities as an active centre for the media. Dubai Media City has also become well established in the last 5 years and has a strong platform of services and facilities."
Al Marri said that the Dubai Press Club will welcome its members to its new premises starting September 20th, 2005 and has started operating from its new location at Thuraya Building, First Floor in the Dubai Media City from Sunday 21st August, 2005.
