Lootah Group joins as Main Sponsor of the 3rd Conference on Documentation and Electronic Archiving

Dubai Municipality today announced that Dubai based business house 'The Lootah Group' will be a main sponsor of its '3rd Conference on Documentation & Electronic Archiving'.

This annual event organized by Dubai Municipality will feature discussions on the theme of knowledge investment and management for decision support. The conference is supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and ICTDAR and will be held from the 17th to 19th of September 2005 at Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai UAE.

Speaking about the conference, Mr. Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, Head of the Higher Coordination Committee in charge of conference organization said, "The conference aims to open up new horizons for establishing mutual cooperation between participants in the fields of applying Information & Knowledge management and Decision Making Support. We seek to promote & spread Information & Knowledge Management and Decision Making Support training amongst participants."

Announcing 'The Lootah Group' as the Main Sponsor, Mr. Hussain Abdulla Fardan, Head of Documentation Section, Dubai Municipality said, "We welcome and appreciate the support of the Lootah Group for the event. This reflects on their vision to increase knowledge building opportunities in the region and all-round development of regional organizations with help of latest technology. The conference is an eagerly anticipated event and will feature wide participation by government, corporate and private sector knowledge management professionals from across the region."

Mr. Abdulmunam Lootah, Executive Vice President of the Lootah Group of Companies - one of the first regional private company to deploy fully automated electronic processes - while confirming his group's decision to support the event as a Main Sponsor said, "We are honored to participate in this prestigious event, and we see our contribution will add strength to the vision H.H. Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum under the guidance of H.H. Dr. Zain Alabdeen, Head of the Scientific Committee in charge of the conference program said, "The conference has chosen the best 45 research, paper work, and experiments from more than 15 countries to be discussed during the conference."

The conference and exhibition focuses on topics like Libraries & Information - Best Practices in Thesaurus Management, Documentation & Electronic Archiving, Statistics, Information & their Application in Decision Making Support and GIS Data Management & Decision Making Support for Engineering, Planning & Environmental Applications. More than 500 conference delegates from different parts of the world and 100 exhibitors including service providers, solution providers, sellers, buyers and trade chambers from around the world will join the event.
