The University of Abu Dhabi witnesses rapid growth as it welcomes a team of new faculty at Orientation Day

The University of Abu Dhabi (ADU) recently held a Faculty Orientation Day to welcome formally all staff and faculty, and to introduce the new Chancellor, Professor Dr. Reynold Macpherson.
"We are delighted to have recruited outstanding and very accomplished scholars, most of whom are coming to us from top academic institutions to join the University's different departments," said H.E. Ali Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Executive Board of Governors." "Orientation Day is a great opportunity for senior management to meet and greet the new and existing professors. This is an event that gives the new recruits a chance to become familiar with the roles of different departments and for existing members to get acquainted with the vision and plans of ADU," he added.
"We are also pleased to introduce and welcome our new Chancellor, Professor Dr. Macpherson, who has a proven track record of successfully leading educational institutions in Scotland, England, Western Australia and New Zealand, and will now help us take Abu Dhabi University forward within the UAE," Al Dhaheri continued.
Speaking at the event were Al Dhaheri, Dr. Owen Cargol, the Abu Dhabi University Provost, and Macpherson. "Faculty Orientation Day gave me the opportunity to meet my new colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere," commented Macpherson. "I am honoured to join a talented team of high profile academics and am confident that the staff and faculty of Abu Dhabi University will continue to motivate and inspire the nation's future generation."
