- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 23 - 2005 at 14:23
- PRESS RELEASE
OK! Magazine International and CPI Consumer has confirmed it will launch an Arabic version of its popular weekly magazine, OK! Middle East (ME), to be released on 18 September, 2005.
The launch comes on the back of market studies conducted with female Arab students from UAE universities and colleges, which reveal that a growing sector of young Arabic women want to read about in Hollywood celebrities as well as Arabic stars.
A full Arabic editorial team has been hired and is currently developing the publication designs. Initially 15,000 copies of the magazine will be printed weekly, bringing the total distribution of OK! ME to 30,000.
"Following the success of OK! ME over the past year, the launch of an Arabic version will be an important addition to OK!'s already impressive international portfolio in Australia, UK, China and Phillippiness," said Dominic De Souza, Director, CPI.
"Moreover, this represents a significant publishing milestone as it will be the only internationally affiliated society magazine in Arabic available in the market," De Souza added.
Taking place at the One & Only Royal Mirage, the launch will be one of the most glamorous events of the year, with over 350 invitation-only VIP guests attending together with an array of A-list Arabic celebrities and top Arabic social and business personalities from the UAE.
Confirmed celebrity attendance includes a special guest appearance by Arabic singing sensation Elissa.
