Professor Hisham Ghassib, president of PSUT, stated that the new major stems from the university's core interest, since the PSUT is a non-governmental specialized university in the field of Information and Communications Technology.

Professor Ghassib pointed out, 'The Communications Engineering is a significant major that supports other PSUT's majors, which are: Computer Sciences, Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering.
