- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, June 16 - 2002 at 11:33
- PRESS RELEASE
DaimlerChrysler Middle East has appointed Briton Julian Millward-Hopkins as Press Manager to handle all DaimlerChrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands communications for the region.
"Last year's merger and integration of the DaimlerChrysler Middle East organisation created a new set of requirements for regional press communications leading to the creation of this new position," said Per V. Rasmussen, President and CEO, DaimlerChrysler Middle East.
"Julian brings with him considerable media and automotive experience and will allow the company and all its brands to communicate with one voice."
"We will continue to work with Julian to ensure he has the required regional support across all the company's brands," said Barbara Saunders, Managing Director, MCS/Action, the Golin/Harris International Affiliate for the Arabian Gulf.
An award-winning former journalist, Millward-Hopkins' career spans local, national and regional daily newspapers in the UK before moving to the UAE over five years ago as Night Editor for Gulf Today. In 1998 he was 'Middle East Motoring Journalist of The Year' and 12 months later joined MCS/Action where he directed the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge account.
"I look forward to the challenge of working with DaimlerChrysler staff and its regional distributors to deliver effective media communications," said Millward-Hopkins. "DaimlerChrysler has an interesting year ahead and, with planned launches from all brands, we will see the company achieve record sales."
