Dubai Education Council holds workshop to discuss roadmap for education development

The Dubai Education Council (DEC), held a workshop last week to discuss a strategy roadmap for education development.
Chaired by Ahmad Bin Byat, Chairman of DEC and facilitated by Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Secretary General of the DEC, the workshop was attended by the other members of the Council: Abdullatif Al Mulla, Howard Reed, Mohammed Ali Zainal, Fatma Al Marri and Jamila Al Muhairi.
The workshop emphasised the need to engage all the stakeholders of the sector in education development. These stakeholders include students, parents, teachers, the public and private sector and the general public.
The Council's strategy for education will revolve around an outcome-driven model where the education system will be aligned to economic and social needs. The workshop reiterated the Council's commitment to promote the latest technology and educational methodologies to achieve its goals.
"The workshop is part of the Dubai Education Council's efforts to develop initiatives that strengthen our educational system and raise standards by promoting global best practices and benchmarks," said Ahmad Bin Byat, Chairman of the Dubai Education Council (DEC). "The workshop focused on designing a comprehensive roadmap that addresses all the factors behind education development within a specific time frame," he added.
"The DEC will meet continuously to develop new ideas that will advance educational standards for the benefit of individuals, the society and the economy," he said. "The Council seeks to maximise the education potential of the country and ensure wider participation from all stakeholders," he added.
The workshop also outlined the Council's key focus areas in the coming months. It will undertake initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of administration and teachers as well as management and leadership skills in the education sector.
Another focus area is promoting the involvement of students and parents in education development through communication campaigns and other activities.
