- PRESS RELEASE
Leading international airline, Lufthansa, has announced the launch of its new Corporate Programme, designed specifically for businesses in the UAE, Oman and Kuwait.
"The Corporate Programme enables our customers to enjoy special services in all aspects of business travel," said Uwe Wriedt, General Manager, Passenger Sales for UAE and Director for Gulf, Iran and Pakistan. "The Programme is designed to make often stressful business travel easier, swifter and more cost effective."
The Lufthansa Corporate Programme offers benefits for business travellers such as seat assignment at the time of reservation, assistance with German Transit Visa for those continuing with their flights beyond Frankfurt, fax check-in facility for all classes in the UAE, Oman and Kuwait and special lounge arrangements in Frankfurt.
Customers can also order special meals in advance, choosing from 22 different meals. The Programme also entitles the company to exclusively assigned corporate phone number for speedier booking procedure.
"We are delighted to be able to offer these benefits to our valued regional corporate customers, in partnership with Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts, Kempinski Hotels and Resorts and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc., Sixt Rent a Car and Avis," added Wriedt.
The Corporate Programme is the new addition to the bonus programmes Lufthansa runs. In the Miles and More Programme - a programme where passengers earn miles, which can then be redeemed for free flights, upgrades and fantasy awards - passengers earn double miles in Business Class and triple miles in First Class. In addition to this, miles can also be collected by using Corporate Programme's hotel and car rental partners.
The Miles and More programme also gives the corporate traveller a chance to achieve Frequent Traveller status, by collecting 35,000 status miles in 12 months. The status offers many benefits, such as waitlist priority, extra baggage allowance and invitation to the Lufthansa Frequent Traveller Lounges, just to mention a few. If a passenger collects 100,000 miles in the 12 months, they will attain Senator status. This status recognises the passenger as a privilege customer with extra baggage allowance, First Class check-in facilities and Senator lounges worldwide. The status cards are recognised all over the Star Alliance network.
One can apply for the Lufthansa Corporate Programme by simply filling out a form with details, such as, the number of employees travelling internationally, travel destinations and annual travel budget.
Lufthansa flights flown from the UAE, Oman and Kuwait are operated with the luxurious Airbus A340 aircraft. Attractive features are a 1-2-1 layout in the First Class, entitling all passengers to an aisle seat. In the Business Class, all passengers have either a window or aisle seat with the 2-2-2 layout. First and Business Class travellers also get to enjoy the fantastic Star Alliance lounge in Dubai International Airport.
Lufthansa will increase its high quality services between the UAE and Europe by introducing daily flights to Munich from October 2002. The flights are timed to provide optimum connections to numerous destinations in Europe and around the world via the Munich hub.
