- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, September 04 - 2005 at 10:42
- PRESS RELEASE
Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer, has recorded a 50.8 percent year-on-year growth in combined Middle East and Africa (MEA) desktop and laptop sales in the second quarter of 2005.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' sales outpaced average market growth of 37.4 per cent. Growth above market average was achieved in more than 17 countries worldwide, including the UAE and Egypt.
And the company's UAE desktop sales more than quadrupled, recording a remarkable 352 percent growth in the same period. The company's UAE combined desktop and mobility sales recorded a massive 167.6 per cent increase in Q2 - the highest combined PC growth amongst the top six market players.
"These results come hard on the heels of our Q1 achievement where we outperformed in Saudi Arabia and are a direct result of our efforts in delivering customer-centric, tailor made and quality IT solutions throughout the region. We will continue to drive forward these initiatives to capitalise on this, and future, successes," said Habib Bouchrara, Vice President, International Sales Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers
"Flexibility, clarity and effectiveness have been key factors in this record growth. The definition and refinement of a clear and strong channel strategy, coupled with a flexible supply channel, have created increased product supply efficiency and supported our channel partners. Investment in time and people, through selection and training, has increased our Middle East presence and reputation. This has been further enhanced by focused and flexible business execution throughout Fujitsu Siemens Computers and our respective partners."
The lucrative Saudi Arabian market also proved fruitful for the international IT manufacturer as it recorded a 52.9% increase in its combined desktop and laptop sales. Mobility products were the biggest climber boasting a 58.8% sales increase with desktop PC sales growing by 33.7%.
