"We were and still are the first air carrier to utilize this system regionally, which makes Royal Jet market leaders in flight safety and security," said Ammar Balkar, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Royal Jet. "No other product provides so many integrated features as a standard whilst providing such high levels of automation. Using this program allows our Flight Safety Officer to identify and correct any Engineering or Flight Safety trends, all the while maintaining pilot to management confidentiality and allowing both parties to communicate in a non-judgemental form."

Captain François Lassale, Flight Safety Officer, Royal Jet, has implemented the new Aerobytes FDM Software at Royal Jet, and has conducted lectures for London City University to Regional Airlines representatives in Dubai last month to explain the advantages and new features this new FDM software has in increasing flight safety and security. Captain François Lassale has been recently appointed as a Board Member of the Flight Safety Foundation Corporate Advisory Council.

"When the time comes to explore flight details, there is no substitute for having powerful and intuitive tools for viewing full flight-data; Royal Jet possesses the right set of resources, thus saving them valuable time and permitting Royal Jet to continually develop their Safety and Efficiency" explains Captain Lassale. "Aerobytes FDM provides tools to fully support the all-important improvement loop of Flight Data Monitoring. These tools are integrated into the system so that the Flight Safety Officer can assess all aspects of the flight by overlaying them on performance graphs".

The Risk Matrix, another component of Aerobytes FDM, allows the Flight Safety Officer to quickly and easily identify where there are large volumes of events. After documenting all the necessary information in a report, he then sits with the respective Pilot to discuss his performance. The discussion held is a non-punitive form of communication which permits the Pilot a chance to review his own actions, and find ways to enhance his abilities, training standards and procedures.

There is far more useful information in flight-data than just events. Royal Jet is at the top of their game for many reasons, but with a powerful and truly flexible reporting engine, they now have the power to evaluate trends and statistics that no other system at any other air carrier could ever produce.

Royal Jet also aims to have the most highly trained staff, in order to reach the highest standards in flight safety and security. As a means of communications safety, Royal Jet will be training its staff, from engineers to air hostesses to VP's, about ways to "break the chain," and keep the crews' working environment stress-free and undisrupted whilst they fly. The training will also educate the employees on how to deal with certain situations and crises if they ever occur.

Flight safety and security is an important factor for passengers and pilots alike, so when it comes time to take corrective action to manage any kinds of trends, Royal Jet only employs the best resources it can find. Their efforts have been recognised globally and with their present efforts on securing their customers the safest possible flight, Royal Jet can only reach higher skies.
