The emirate's fashion and textiles presence is gaining global credibility as premier international brands permeate local markets.
As Dubai accelerates its evolution to a diversified financial system focusing on trade, re-export and knowledge investment, trade exhibitions like the biannual Motexha textile and fashion show are becoming key platforms for trade partners, suppliers and retailers to network and explore business opportunities.
For the first time in Motexha's history, Motexha Autumn 2005 is being supported by Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), the world's leading online research, trend analysis and news service for the fashion and style industries. The move comes as the Dubai fashion industry sheds its nascence and gathers credence on the global stage as a discerning market for the latest in fashion and accessories.

Motexha facilitates international brands in acquiring local franchise agents to initiate penetration in regional markets by bringing together clothing brands and regional fashion traders, facilitating business transactions and partnerships. This fall, Motexha gears up for Autumn 2005 with over 200 international brands exhibiting their offerings to a vast portfolio of investors and fashion traders.

Suman Manian, show manager, Motexha, said "The presence of Worth Global Style Network (WGSN), considered by many to be the Forbes of the fashion world, at Motexha Autumn 2005 is a clear indicator that Dubai's fashion and textile presence has matured drastically on the global stage. The Middle East's high disposable incomes and discerning consumer markets make it extremely viable for apparel manufacturers and internationally renowned premium brands".

Their Motexha presence is WGSN's first foray in the Gulf region, and the fashion analyst will exhibit an array of tools including up-to-the minute global online information on catwalk coverage, trend research, trade shows, industry happenings, as well as consumer intelligence reports and industry surveys to demonstrate how its interactive tools may help retailers, manufactures and suppliers make informed strategic decisions towards developing their brand strategies.

"Motexha is the ideal trade platform for access to regional markets, and provides opportunity for manufacturers and suppliers to liaise, conduct business, and form strategic partnerships with local agents, investors and retailers. Motexha becomes particularly pertinent in light of Dubai's rising prominence in fashion circles," concluded Manian.
