Etisalat launches subscription campaign for Toll-Free 800- service

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation - Etisalat - has announced a campaign to promote the use of the Advanced Toll-free service that allows companies to have their name or generic industry activity as a part of their toll-free number.

To mark the first anniversary of the launch of this service in the UAE, Etisalat has been joined by 12 companies that have signed on to this service early and enjoyed increased satisfaction levels from their end customers.

Customers who wish to reach companies that have subscribed to this service need only call 800- followed by the name of the company. Subscriptions to this service have been extremely encouraging since the launch of this service in September 2004, the number of companies having their own dedicated toll-free number bearing their name or industry name has doubled during the last year.

This campaign is being carried out in cooperation with 12 prominent customers of the service, who have witnessed increased business and customer satisfaction levels. The companies are 800-SAMSUNG, 800-ADNOC, 800-DAMAC, 800-ROTANA, 800-LG, 800-NMC, 800-HSBC, 800-ALDAR, 800-VOLVO, 800-IATC, 800-RAHA and 800-ETASTAR.

Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President- Marketing, Etisalat, said: "The service 800-MYNAME has been a great success. We saw many old toll-free service subscribers change over to the new approach, and they even changed their numbers to gain the benefits of alphanumeric dialing. Their customers now no longer need to remember long strings of numbers, but can just punch in the keys corresponding to the characters in the company's name."

"We continue to urge Business customers to join the many others in taking their customer interaction process and business accessibility to the next level. Those interested in doing so at even a later stage are advised to visit an Etisalat Business Centre so that your company name or generic industry term can be activated. The facility we announced to this system in April this year allows businesses to even use their industry name, and for instance 800-HOTEL or 800-HOSPITAL can be booked", he added.

There are two billing packages available to businesses who wish to set up a contact centre to handle their customer interaction. One would get the business a monthly account which would bill each call and provide the business with a monthly bill. The other has a flat rate for any type of local call.
