Samsung launches new line-up of 'Magic' LCD monitors in Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 07 - 2005 at 08:06
- PRESS RELEASE
Samsung Electronics, the world leader in digital technology, today unveiled the future of computer display technology with the launch of its upgraded Magic-series monitors in the Middle East.
Mr. J. H. Park, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE), said: "The launch of Samsung's latest range of Magic-series monitors would serve to reinvent the traditional computer display industry in the region. The prime objective of inventing the Magic-series monitors is to offer sophisticated functionalities that are non-existent in the current generation of monitors. Even today, it seems far-fetched for a monitor to perform important tasks such as adjust brightness levels to suit different user environments, transform into a television at a click of a button, or extend ergonomics to 5 levels of mechanical flexibility".
Till date, 12 "Magic" themes have been used to effectively present the excellent performance of Samsung product lines. Samsung has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of the Middle East market with these new offerings, designed to deliver an optimal multimedia solution to customers. The new Magic Series models feature enhanced MagicColor function realized by Samsung's proprietary color enhancer integrated chip which selectively accentuates one color chosen by the user from six (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow).
"With the MagicColor function, the user can easily customize the color settings of the monitor. Usually, each user has a clear and distinctive preference about skin color, and MagicColor enables the user to adjust the skin tone without affecting any other colors. In addition, the GTC (Gray Color Temperature Compensation) algorithm has been adopted to correct color expression of the mid-range gradation that is easily affected by color temperature adjustment. The result is more natural images closer to the original," said Mr. K. H. Koh, General Manager, Digital Information Technology Division, SGE
MagicSpeed and MagicContrast again realized the fastest response time of 4ms with Samsung's proprietary chip, RTA (Response Time Accelerator) and highest contrast of 1500:1. The response time has been reduced by more than two times than that of previous monitors. In particular, premium model SyncMaster 173P plus has both 8ms MagicSpeed and 1500:1 MagicContrast at the same time for the first time in the world, upgrading LCD monitor technology to a whole new level.
The MagicGreen feature coincides with the recent global trend of awareness on wellness and health. MagicGreen monitors emit anions, which are nicknamed "vitamins in the air," and therefore clean up the air and increase the secretion of endorphins in the human body, relieving stress and making a person feel better. Samsung's other masterpiece technology, MagicNet, is a solution developed to meet the rapidly growing needs for networking. MagicNet transmits multimedia files via the network with 100% file integrity. With MagicNet and Ethernet LAN cables, it is possible to operate 10 display monitors at the same time, transmitting streaming video at a speed of 4 Mbps.
MagicRotation automatically senses the monitor angle and changes the screen to vertical or horizontal when the product is turned by 90 degrees. Now users can conveniently enjoy the rotation function without additional mode settings when they want to rotate the monitor.
"As the global leader in display technology, and the world's largest manufacturer of monitors, Samsung aims to differentiate its products by incorporating new and innovative design and technology elements that deliver tangible values to customers," said Mr. K.V. Narayanan, Sales and Marketing Manager, Digital Information Technology Division, SGE. "The launch of Samsung's magic-series monitors in the region will set a new technology benchmark, while providing our customers with an enhanced multimedia experience," Mr. Narayanan concluded.
The new Upgraded Magic Series products also include features such as MagicStand, MagicTuner MagicZone, MagicVision, MagicTune and MagicBright.
