Ivo Janecka will head a team of healthcare
professionals focused on developing CPQ into the
region's foremost regulatory authority on healthcare and medical education services.
CPQ is one of the results of the collaboration between Harvard Medical International (HMI) and Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC). HMI, a subsidiary of Harvard University and Harvard Medical School, is dedicated to the advancement of healthcare delivery, medical education, and biomedical research around the world. DHCC, a company of Dubai Holding, has been established
to serve as a regional hub for healthcare services.
DHCC Chairman Saeed Al Muntafiq, welcoming Dr.
Janecka, pointed out that CPQ's new CEO is an
internationally renowned physician and surgeon who devoted the first 20 years of his professional career to leading the development of innovative surgical treatments for head and neck cancer. Most recently, he has focused his expertise on the development of systems approaches to public health and healthcare delivery.
"I am sure that under the capable leadership of Dr. Janecka, the Center for Healthcare Planning & Quality will become a leading light in its field of healthcare regulatory services, not only for this region, but acclaimed across the world," Al Muntafiq said.
Al Muntafiq pointed out that CPQ is in the process of establishing a code of practices that will become the standard of quality in healthcare and medical sectors in the region.
"Dr. Janecka assumes the mantle of CPQ Chief Executive at a most crucial juncture. We are indeed fortunate to have a leading expert to guide CPQ into the next and most critical phase of its operations and to establish CPQ as the leading-edge regulatory agency in the
healthcare and medical planning and quality sector," DHCC Chairman added.
Vast opportunities

Dr. Janecka added.
A native of the former Czechoslovakia, Dr. Janecka is a graduate of the Charles University Faculty of Medicine and the State University of New York. He is a former member of the Faculties of Medicine at Columbia University in New York, The University of Pittsburgh and Harvard University where he was Professor of Surgery from 1999 to 2003.
Dr. Janecka earned an MBA degree from Regis University and completed a Doctorate in Applied Management and Decision Sciences while serving as Executive Vice-President and Head of Cancer Control for the Florida State Division of the American Cancer Society.
