Nissan makes news with world-first media channel
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, September 11 - 2005 at 10:41
- PRESS RELEASE
Nissan Middle East has achieved an automotive world-first by launching a dedicated on-line media channel providing a broadcast news service on the company's products and corporate affairs.
This is the first time that a global automaker has created an on-line resource that delivers high-resolution broadcast-quality video and audio material, as well as stills, text documents, and graphics.
"It's always been difficult to get this kind of material to the media using conventional methods, which almost invariably take too long when pressing deadlines have to be met," said Monal Zeidan, corporate communications manager at Nissan Middle East.
"This way, journalists are only a keystroke away from breaking news round-the-clock, as well as getting instant access to top-quality professional material stored in the historical archives.
"And anyone with an interest in Nissan can also source the material after media priority has passed. At that stage, it is all in the public domain without the need for passwords or access codes."
Media personnel can sign up to a VIP service that sends an SMS or MMS alerting them to urgent breaking news from Nissan. They are assigned a password so that they can download the material immediately.
Nissan Media Channel is based on the Nissan Middle East website where it can be accessed from its own banner or from the 'Inside Nissan' menu listing. Content is provided in English, Arabic, French, and Farsi.
The product channel covers everything about Nissan vehicles and is archived by model - sedan, SUV, and concept cars - sub-divided into news, video, and images.
The corporate channel deals with CEO news, corporate events, business and financial issues, annual reports, Nissan policies and strategies, and statements by the chief executive or board or directors.
"This service represents a real-time SHIFT in communication for Nissan," said Zeidan. "No other auto manufacturer has developed such a service and Nissan Middle East is justifiably proud to lead the way."
