11 TNT depots achieve top TAPA accreditation.
The forecast comes as a further 11 TNT depots achieve the highest accreditation from the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA), the global association of hi-tech manufacturers and logistics suppliers.

TAPA 'A' certification has gone to TNT depots in Vienna and Linz in Austria, Kolding and Copenhagen in Denmark, Helsinki and Turku in Finland, Riga in Latvia, Moscow and St. Petersburg in Russia, and new depots in both, Madrid, Spain and Istanbul, Turkey.

"Achieving TAPA 'A' accreditation, which involves rigorous auditing of each depot's security infrastructure, places TNT at the forefront of shipment security for high value hi-tech goods," said Mark Pell, TNT's Managing Director, Gulf.

"This puts us ahead of our competitors when dealing with the technology industry and we're already seeing an increase in volumes from this sector."

In addition, TNT Spain's Barcelona air and road depots as well as Seville, have achieved TAPA 'B' accreditation.

The TAPA certification has three categories, which are defined by the value of hi-tech traffic moving through each depot - TAPA 'A' being multi-million dollars worth of goods per month.

"This provides our customers with the confidence that TNT has the established freight security requirements in place to ensure a secure network and safe in-transit storage and warehousing of high value products, "added Pell.

TNT has already achieved the prestigious certification at its major European air hub in Liège, Belgium and its European road hub in Arnhem, The Netherlands, both of which have seen growing volumes of hi-tech consignments.
