Emaar nurtures business leaders of tomorrow
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 13 - 2005 at 10:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Emaar Properties has given 12 new graduates from leading UAE universities the opportunity to kick start their careers at Emaar, the world's leading property developer.
The graduates, aged between 22 and 26 and a mix of male and female began their working lives at Emaar at the end of August following a 4 week selection process. In addition to a detailed assessment the graduates were chosen on the strength of their linguistic skills, outgoing personalities, motivation and hard work - all essential qualities for all Emaar employees.
Already a supporter of the government's Emiratisation programme ensuring the development of national talent, a significant percentage of the Emaar workforce comprises nationals. The National Development Programme goes a step further and hand picks graduates directly from universities. Emaar is committed to nurturing young talent and investing in the corporate future of Dubai by fostering the business leaders of tomorrow.
Each new graduate will work in a designated department depending on their individual skills and qualifications; these include Marketing, Corporate Services, Development, Retail, Customer Care, Sales and Property Management. Each recruit will also have the opportunity to experience other departments over the coming 3 months to gain an overall understanding of Emaar.
Emaar's induction programme included introductions and presentations from the senior management team and its subsidiaries as well as site visits to some of its leading projects including Arabian Ranches, Dubai Marina and the Burj Dubai Development.
On joining, the graduates were assigned a 'buddy' - one of last year's successful graduate trainees. A new introduction to the programme this year, a 'buddy' is on hand for the first 6 months from when the graduate starts to help direct and guide as well as share their experiences of being one of the few hand picked graduates to benefit from the programme.
