"At GITEX, Sun is highlighting its state-of-the-art new software, based on technical innovation and open source mindshare. Sun will show GITEX attendees the manifold benefits of these latest solutions, such as ease of use, reduced cost and increased productivity," said Graham Porter, marketing manager, MENA, Sun Microsystems.

GITEX delegates will be the first in the Middle East to see Sun's new Galaxy product range, a state-of-the-art set of rack mountable volume servers being unveiled at GITEX 2005. Offering unparalleled simplicity and versatility, the Galaxy server is set to be a major benefit for businesses across the GCC.

Sun will also showcase new additions to its Java Desktop System (JDS) and Star Office ranges, as well as its industry-leading identity management software, which provides best-of-breed enterprise security for firms across the GCC. The company is currently celebrating the tenth anniversary of its Java technology.

"As commercial activity continues to increase across the Middle East, we must also continue to innovate and upgrade. This year's GITEX attendees will be treated to a display of the creativity and resourcefulness which has made Sun a market leader in this region, and will be able to see the vital new features of our technology at first-hand," Mr. Porter continued.

Having maintained its commitment to outside-the-box ingenuity this year, Sun will give GITEX attendees an insight into its inventive policy. Sun has this year launched OpenSolaris, a vast initiative to outsource the Solaris program among the Middle East development community, and trigger a new wave of creative design across the region.

The company has also held a highly successful incentive scheme covering its storage software and AMD-based volume products. At GITEX, Sun exhibitors will be distributing prizes for the most prolific vendors of these products.

"At Sun, we realize that innovation is the key to our success - if we lose our creative edge, we will be overtaken. At GITEX, we wish to demonstrate that our hunger for new and challenging projects remains undiminished, and hope to foster the spirit of interaction which is the pillar of Sun's development," Porter concluded.
