The prize-packed promotion will be held throughout Dubai Summer Surprises 2002 at 18 participating malls, and was announced on June 18 by Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim, President of DSMG at a press conference held at Mazaya Centre.

Others present were Mr. Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer, DSS and Mr. Thomas Edelmann, Vice President, Marketing, MasterCard International Middle East/North Africa Region.

Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim said: "The Dubai Shopping Malls Group is once again delighted to offer shoppers the chance to win superb prizes during DSS. This annual promotion run by the DSMG has become a big hit with DSS shoppers from both within the UAE and abroad because of the number and quality of prizes that are given away, culminating with the grand cash prize.

Mr. Ibrahim added: "The continued success of the promotion every year is due to a combination of factors - the excellent support offered by the Organising Committee of the Dubai Summer Surprises to the Dubai Shopping Malls Group and the great enthusiasm and coordination shown by participating malls. Such cooperation has paved the way for a concerted effort to be made to project Dubai as the year-round shopping destination of the Middle East".

Mr. Saeed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer, DSS said:"The DSMG promotion will provide added excitement to the DSS and extra value to shoppers. We are happy to see that the private sector is committed as ever before to extend their whole-hearted support to ensure the success of DSS".

Mr. Nabouda added: "Every year during the summer, the DSS has played a major role in boosting the performances of private sector establishments in Dubai including shopping malls, hotels and airlines. Last year, an 8.8 percent increase in spending pushed overall sales in Dubai shopping malls to Dhs. 1.118 billion. We are confident that this year's DSMG promotion will again encourage shoppers to spend more in the participating malls".

On behalf of MasterCard International, Mr. Mohamed Belarj, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Middle East/North Africa Region said: "At MasterCard we are again excited to team up with Dubai Shopping Malls Group for the third consecutive year offering shoppers some fantastic chances to win throughout the duration of the Dubai Summer Surprises.
