Dubai Calibre 2005- the first ever ISSF World Cup Final Shotgun Championship to be held in Dubai takes its fist championship step by participating in the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition currently running in Abu Dhabi till September 16, 2005.
Organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Falconry Club, the five day long exhibition, is one of the biggest annual events in the capital of the United Arab Emirates and brings together a whole array of hunting and equestrian equipment manufacturers.
Said Saeed Al Nabouda, head of marketing, 'Dubai Calibre is very excited to participate in an event such as the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, which aims to promote and raise awareness on various industries and professions, such as hunting, falconry, equestrian industry and the preservation of our country's heritage. Additionally, with more than 353 exhibitors participating in the show, the exhibition is an ideal stage for showcasing all shooting sports goods and hunting accessories.'
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, Dubai Calibre 2005 is scheduled to hit the city from Nov. 19 to Nov. 25.
Organized by The Munich-based International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF), the governing body of the international shooting sports overseeing the shooting games for the Olympics, the world championship shotgun will comprise of events in various categories for both men and women at the Jebel Ali Shooting Club
The global shooting event will host sharp shooters who are well-known for their participation in many high ranking shooting events including the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cups and Continental Championships. Ace shooters from the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Egypt will participate in the prestigious event and the competition will be governed by qualified judges and referees, appointed by the ISSF.
Munich-based ISSF is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the sole supervising body of the international amateur shooting sport for all international competitions. With about a 157 national federations from 137 affiliated countries including the UAE as its members, ISSF aims to promote and manage the development of amateur sport shooting in the world, to organize and supervise the shooting competitions, and to control all technical facilities at the Olympic Games in cooperation with the International Olympic Committee.
