CA's CIO Kevin Kern praises Arab leaders' embrace of ICT to achieve business goals

Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA), one of the world's largest management software companies, today announced that its Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Kevin Kern, will be visiting Dubai to meet customers at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX).

Kern will be meeting with select CIOs from large organisations and government agencies to share global views on the changing role of CIOs today.

"With the maturing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector and the continued economic growth of the Arab region, Arab organizations are looking to strengthen their positions in global markets through technology," said Kern. "CA continues to invest in the region and recognizes the importance of providing cost effective solutions that support the needs of these organisations. CA is leveraging its over three decades of leading IT experience to help Middle East organisations make the right technology investments that enable them to build an IT foundation to support their business needs and help grow their business."

Kern will also deliver a keynote address at the Global ICT Leaders @ GITEX 2005 on Saturday, 26 September, at The Fairmont Dubai. Entitled, "The Summit Message," Kern will provide delegates with a visionary look on the future of ICT.

Global ICT Leaders @ GITEX 2005 is a six-day event that brings together senior ICT leaders and business decision makers from the region's private and public sectors to share knowledge and visions on how the changing ICT environment will affect global and regional economies.

"Global ICT Leaders @ GITEX 2005 brings together the thought leaders of this century in an attempt to encapsulate a global vision for the growth and development of the ICT sector," said Ali Kamali, managing director of Datamatix Group. Kern's visit builds on CA's ongoing commitment to the region and coincides with CA's upcoming first anniversary of the Company's establishment of direct operations in the Arab countries. Kern has 27 years of global IT and business experience, and is responsible for CA's global IT strategy, development and deployment encompassing data centres, systems and applications, systems security and networking.
