UK based 'Logistics Training International' (LTI), an approved Training and Assessment Centre of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, has appointed MMI Logistics to represent them in the UAE.

MMI Logistics (MMIL) will be their sole representative in the region, and will foster and facilitate various professional training programmes pertaining to the industry.

Logistics Training International is an internationally renowned training provider that offers a range of programmes to benefit and recognise individuals working in logistics, transport and supply chain management. The LTI qualifications are respected globally as a statement of professional achievement, knowledge and competence.

Formalising the partnership, David Granville, Chief Executive of People Development Group International Limited (which incorporates Logistics Training International); Mike Lee, Manager MMI Logistics; and Ashok Kapoor, Manager Human Resources, MMI, signed an exclusive 5-year agreement, enabling MMIL to market, promote and facilitate the range of professional courses offered by LTI.

Speaking on the occasion, David Granville announced that this groundbreaking partnership was of immense significance to the region: "Cargo transportation and logistics are the very lifeblood of international trade and industry, a fact that is increasingly evident in the trade-driven Middle Eastern markets. It is crucial that companies and individuals empower themselves with knowledge and skills, and tap into modern supply chain management practices to keep abreast of international developments."

Granville added, "We are extremely pleased to partner with MMI Logistics who are acknowledged industry leaders in the region, and have the necessary marketing support to promote our training programme. Together with MMI, our mission is to elevate the international profile of UAE's existing logistics expertise, and we hope that this launch signifies a new phase of development within the industry."

Speaking on behalf of MMI, Ashok Kapoor stated that the partnership reflected MMI's ongoing mission to share knowledge with the community and enhance the company's leadership position in the marketplace. "We have a commitment to empower both our people and the community we belong to. As industry leaders, we also have an underlying mission to introduce and foster new initiatives that benefit not only our own company, but also our clients, customers and competitors," he explained.

Logistics Training International's distance learning programme will be open to interested individuals, companies, and students. "The various courses offered will interest and benefit purchasing and logistics officers employed in organisations, corporations engaged in trade and commerce, and students of trade and transport courses, among others," explained Kapoor. "Those holding the LTI qualifications will find it invaluable in advancing their careers," he added, stating that details of the courses were available at www.scilnet.com.
