- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, September 18 - 2005 at 08:03
- PRESS RELEASE
Digital home entertainment systems covering home theatre, TV and hi-fi will be in great demand during GITEX Shopper according to organisers Dubai World Trade Centre.
High costs are usually the biggest barrier to purchasing a digital home solution, however, at GITEX Shopper the prices of home entertainment systems will touch rock bottom and distributors, vendors and resellers will outdo one another to make the offers feasible for local and regional consumers.
The show will usher in novel concepts in home entertainment from some of the consumer majors including Sony, HP, BenQ, Harman/ Kardon, JBL, Infinity, Sanyo, Panatech, Denon, Sansui, Teac, JVC, Samsung and LG. In addition to the major retailers like Jumbo, Jacky's. Plug-ins, Emirates Computers, Cellucom and Compume to name a few, the show will see new names like V.V. & Sons and Harman House, Geekay Games, Aptec Gulf and Telefonika for the very first time.
Robert Dung, Managing Director, BenQ Middle East, said: "GITEX 2005 is the ideal location to launch new products and offers in the home entertainment technology market. Along with a new range of LCD TVs including the newly launched 37-inch LCD TV, we will unveil a range of special product offers, combining our LCD TV range with other high-end technology, in addition to some of the most competitive pricing."
Harman House on the other hand is focusing on several products such as flat panels, multimedia speakers and home theatre. M. K. Raju, Retail Manager, Harman House said: "We will offer iPod docking stations to Harman Kardon and JBL computer speakers. Being a Samsung distributor, we will also be offering 15-inch to 46-inch LCDs with a variety of offers for our wider product range. We will also introduce Masco that will have a 20-inch LCD screen and built-in DVD. Along with this we plan to also launch a 40-inch plasma screen."
Consumers at GITEX Shopper want things simplified as part of a complete digital home package and show strong interest in the digital home concept. The offers put together by almost all the leading consumer electronic players gathered under one roof are a great help to the end user.
GITEX Shopper 2004 reported on-site sales in excess of AED56 million (US$15.25 million), an increase of 33% against deals worth AED42 million in 2003. The weeklong event last year had also attracted around 108,000 consumers, representing an average per capita spent of AED519 (US$141).
