NBK's Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Issam Al Sager, has signed the sponsorship agreement with Sheikh Talal Fahed Al Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairman of Qadsiya Sporting Club and President of the Tournament's Organizing High Commission.
Upon signing the agreement, Al Sager commented by saying: 'NBK has always been the pioneer in supporting and encouraging Kuwaiti sports events and activities through out the previous years, and this year is no exception for NBK, as it will sponsor this outstanding event as an emphasis to its genuine interest in youth and sportive initiatives within the Kuwaiti community'.
Al Sager elaborated that this year's GCC Football Leagues tournament will witness the participation of more than 210 players and will accommodate approx. 15,000 spectators at each one of the matches. There will be also 200 media reporters and commentators to cover this big event which will be broadcasted by more than 10 TV channels. The opening ceremony will be celebrated in one of the main malls around Qadsia Club, and free gifts will be distributed to spectators during the tournament matches.
Sheikh Talal Fahed Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, in his turn, stated that this year's finals will be the most prominent of all GCC previous football tournaments as it will be the last to be held in one particular country. As of next year, the GCC Football leagues finals will no longer be held in one country, but rather on a back and forth basis. Sheikh Talal then concluded by saying that GCC Football Leagues finals have always attracted lots of watchers and viewers from different parts of the Arabic world; In fact, many of the GCC football starts today have become known and popular through their participation in earlier GCC tournaments that stretch back to 1982.
