DCCI to provide all its services online by next year
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, September 18 - 2005 at 12:30
- PRESS RELEASE
Mr. Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), highlighted the significance of participating in Gitex 2005.
Al Mutaiwee said that the Dubai Chamber's efforts to upgrade and modernize its commercial services for the benefit of the local business community copes with the wise policy of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, in supporting the local economy. He acknowledged the efforts of the Information and Communications Technology Department at DCCI, in cooperation with Satyam Computer Services Ltd., in helping turning the Dubai Chamber's services online for all its members and customers.
"The DCCI's new integrated end to end Front Office Solution project, which started on August 21, coincides with the preparation of the Dubai Chamber to strongly participate in Gitex 2005 as it is one of the biggest specialized computer exhibitions in the world, which would help display the latest trends in information and communication technologies," said Al Mutaiwee.
The DCCI's new end to end Front Office Solution project was decided to be carried out as part of the Dubai Chamber's plan to upgrade its internal work procedures and improve its online services such as the issue of Certificates of Origin for the members, membership registration and renewal, information services, legal services, booking facility and event logging and others.
Al Mutaiwee pointed out that the DCCI is very keen to implement this project on time so that all members of the Dubai Chamber would be able to receive their services or carry out their commercial transactions on line, saving effort and time, instead of visiting the headquarters of the DCCI to complete their commercial procedures.
The Dubai Chamber is also about to complete another two integrated projects on commercial documentation management system, which will start by the end of this year.
"Gitex 2005 is a significant opportunity to introduce the visitors and the members of the Dubai Chamber, who will be visiting the exhibition, to our improved and integrated online services. A number of seminars will be conducted during the exhibition to introduce the visitors on how to access our upgraded online services," said Al Mutaiwee.
"Gitex is a good chance for everyone to be introduced to the world's latest developments in information and communications technology, and an opportunity to hold meetings with representatives of different government corporations in the UAE to discuss the latest trends in the field of customer services," he added.
